The first session starts at 8:30am, and the last session ends about 5:30pm.
Auditors are welcome.
Potluck lunch – bring something to share!
Both groundwork and under saddle work will be offered.
There is no set format because the needs of each horse and rider vary.

The Refined Horsemanship Clinic focuses on developing the partnership of the horse and rider:

  • Classical riding principles are blended with horsemanship that honors the horse.
  • An emphasis is placed on the horse understanding what is being asked and gaining confidence during the work. 
  • Riders are assisted in understanding how the horse is physically designed to function and how he thinks and evaluates. 
  • Solid strategies are developed for creating harmonious partnerships that expands the options riders have with their horses.

Dr. Heuschmann's lecture and riding sessions provide detailed insights into the biomechanics of the horse and classical riding principles. Through his efforts, the horse finds an advocate and a voice. He has campaigned internationally, for well over a decade, speaking out for more humane training practices.
